FAQs

Training with us

Q. Do you accept government funding for the dog grooming courses?

A. Unfortunately we are not eligible as a training provider to accept the advanced learner loan. Young people may be eligible for help with course costs via The Princes Trust who deal directly with the candidate. We require a non-refundable deposit to enrol, and we offer the option to pay outstanding balance in instalments. We prefer payments via bank transfer but we can accept credit card payments as well.

Q. How long are the courses?

A. The guided learning hours are set by the awarding body, VetSkill, which can be found by clicking on the different course options. Each day is 8:45am until 3:15pm with 2.5 hours’ worth of homework each day.

Q. When is the next available course?

A. We advertise the next dates on the online booking page. It the dates do not suit you please contact us and we may be able to accommodate your schedule on the next course.

Q. Is there an exam?

A. The VetSkill qualifications require learners to pass an online multiple-choice test. These will run two or three times a year and you will need to attend one of them. You will also be assessed via a portfolio of evidence that you will build during your course.

Q. Will I be able to run my own dog grooming business at the end of one of your courses?

A. The VetSkill dog grooming qualifications are very modern and are designed to provide you with the practical skills and the underpinning knowledge to work competently and independently as a dog groomer by the end of both the level 2 and level 3. As with any chosen vocation, some candidates will have a natural flair and will progress more quickly than others, and undertaking any training doesn’t automatically guarantee a job at the end of it. The VetSkill qualifications are the best available and most likely to set you up for success.
